Baroque Works is set to play a huge role in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, even if the true confrontation won’t take place until season 3, and a cherished, fan-favorite member has recently been selected.
The platform declared Tuesday that the talented performer will appear in the One Piece season 3 cast and will portray Bon Clay. This character can use their power to transform into an exact copy of any person they’ve touched with their main hand. The performer, who is gender non-conforming and goes by they/them, will play a interpretation of that figure re-envisioned as non-binary, rather than as a drag performer, in the live-action series, as in the source material and anime.
This performer joins multiple new cast members who will portray the group to reality, including leader Sir Crocodile, brought to life by the seasoned performer, Sophia Anne Caruso as a key member, and an accomplished actor, who is also part of the ensemble as the monarch of the desert kingdom.
Even though the role is a important part of the group, the individual won’t appear until One Piece season 3. Considering season 2 likely to portray the Little Garden arc, this marks a major departure in the schedule of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could indicate further changes to the narrative framework.
The actor’s combination of excellent comedic sense and deep sensitivity makes them a standout choice for the part. In addition to their latest vocal work in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and multiple awards for penning and acting in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, highlighting the range they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s highly regarded characters.
Netflix's live-action One Piece program is set to return for its second season on March 10th, 2026.
