Ex- Physician Charged with Sexual Assault Charges Against 38 Individuals in His Care

Prosecutors report that a former doctor stands accused of committing assaults involving 38 victims who were patients.

Details of the Grave Charges

Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous acts of sexual assault – some of which involve acts against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 and 2021.

A senior CPS official commented, “Legal teams have diligently worked to assist a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the available evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”

Scope of the Investigation

These allegations follow what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.

Spencer is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.

The charging documents outline the 45 charges comprise:

• 15 counts of assault.
• Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
• Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
• 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
• One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
