American entertainer Finn, who was seen in iconic TV shows like "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away at 60 years old.

The skilled improv artist died at home in LA on Monday having undergone cancer treatment beginning in 2022, per reports.

"Pat Finn saw everyone as a friend - only friends he didn't know yet," his loved ones shared in a message.

They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with happiness and energy".

A Prolific TV Career

Finn's first television role was on the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he portrayed the titular character's brother.

He was also seen in a regular part on "Murphy Brown" between 1995 and 1997.

He starred as a party host named Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, depicting a party host who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.

During the 90s and 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of hit series, such as:

  • King of Queens
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • House, M.D.

Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of the character Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight series between 2011 and 2018.

His cinematic roles are It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.

A Life in Improv

Outside of his on-screen roles, Finn was a skilled improviser and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.

He was part of a six-member improv team known as "Beer Shark Mice".

"Finn taught, supported, and inspired countless students throughout the years and it would be difficult to find someone anyplace who has a bad thing to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

In a tribute, peer Richard Kind noted there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, helping you be funnier and better. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote online.

The actor is remembered by his spouse Donna, three children, and his family.
